Dear Sweet Soul,

I'm so glad our paths have crossed. I have so much to share with you about who were are and what were are about. I hope you take the time to not only read this but to really take it in and see if you feel that this is something you want. Know that it is completely voluntary to join so we want you to come with arms wide open willing to laugh, cry, struggle, and most importantly grow during your time with us.

Let's Begin.

On any journey, you contemplate taking it is good to know who your travel companions are and the purpose of the voyage. Typically there will be 3 other young ladies ranging in ages 18-21 living in the same quarters as you. Depending on when you join, there may be as few as 6 young ladies or as many as 30 living on site. There will be times when the whole group comes together and there will be times when smaller groups are needed. Whether it be for an event or a class, everyone will do their part to keep things running smoothly. We operate as one big, healthy family.  

There will also be a house mom who will be living on-site 24/7 that will help get you set up with a bus pass, welcome kit, schedule of events, chore chart, and everything else you'll need to get started. She will be your go-to for any question or need that may arise.

You will also be able to "Adopt a Mom" to have a healthy female-figure to be part of your journey. She will be there for you from the big things to the little things life brings.

These are just two of the important people you will bond with-- there will be many, many more. You will never have to feel alone ever again.

The purpose of Be the Magic is to empower you and other young women aging out of the foster care system to living the lives you love; igniting your passion to make a positive contribution to the world.  

We will succeed in doing this together. You will have access to inner healing, life skills, and various forms of exercise as well as internships, fundraising events, and team-building activities.

It will be the beginning of new possibilities.

Please note we are not in the business of "fixing you". You are not broken. You are not defective. You are not unwanted.

You are perfect.

Maybe you don't believe me when I say that, but it's true. You could be thinking, but why would the people who were supposed to care for me, abandon me or abuse me or whatever your history may be.

Those are valid questions, but that has nothing to do with you and everything to do with them. There is and never was anything wrong with you. They have unresolved issues in their life rendering them from being fully available to you.

None of it was your fault. It has absolutely nothing to do with you.

If you take anything away from Be the Magic, remember that. What was happening is that you were a sponge mentally absorbing everything in your environment, figuring out how to get love in any way you can. That's what we are born to do, but doing this in an unhealthy environment caused you to start behaving in certain ways, essentially acting in ways you normally would not.  And yes, even though this is true, you are still perfect.

Let me clarify, when I say perfect, I don't mean you have it all together and are flawless. I mean who you are at your core is perfect. We all make mistakes. We all fail. But we are not meant to stuff away parts of us others deem unworthy or defective. That's where Be the Magic comes in.

We are here to help you reconnect with those lost parts so you can let go of all the things you are not and begin living the life you were meant to.

You can look forward to being a healthy you. I promise you will not be made to do or be anything but yourself.

But what were are going to do is this.....we ARE going to accept you right where you are, we ARE going to give you a safe environment to express yourself, we ARE going to give you the tools you need to give you every opportunity to succeed.

With all that being said, in the end, it's all up to you to do the work because there's only one person who can save you.

Yes, this can be scary, but it should also feel equally exciting.

You can finally be in control of the only thing you'll ever need control of ... yourself.

We can't wait to meet you and help you begin this beautiful journey of unlearning everything that isn't the real you and becoming everything you truly are.
